Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy explains how Likely Labs Ltd handles information in our app, Undertone.
Undertone does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or usage data. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers. The app operates entirely on your device and over a direct, local peer-to-peer connection between nearby devices.
Your voice is transmitted directly between the devices in your room over a local peer-to-peer network connection. Audio is never recorded, never stored, and never sent to any server — ours or anyone else's. When you leave a room, nothing persists.
The display name you choose and your audio preferences (including any saved room numbers) are stored only on your device. Your display name is shared only with the people in your room, over the local connection, for the duration of the conversation.
Undertone asks for the permissions its features need, and nothing more: the microphone to share your voice with your room, the local network to find and connect to nearby devices, the camera solely to scan a friend's room code, and Nearby Interaction (on supported devices) to show where friends are on the in-room radar. Distance and direction from Nearby Interaction are shown on screen only — no location data is stored or shared, and Undertone never accesses GPS or your geographic location.
Undertone does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Audio travels only over the direct local link between devices in your room and never crosses the internet. It is not additionally end-to-end encrypted in this version; joining a room requires the 4-digit code and physical proximity to the host.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Your continued use of the app after any changes will be regarded as acceptance of the updated policy.
